STEP 03 · DESIGN

From project picture to defensible playbook.

Diagnose tells you what's there. Design tells you what to do, when to do it, in what sequence, and how to document every step. Built for your project, your protocol, your buyers, and whoever's executing on the ground.

Three steps to your ultimate project playbook.

1

Initial Scoping

We walk through your diagnostic findings together, talk through your target protocol and credit types, and define the actual scope of your design, what matters first for the credit cycle.

2

Design Work

Bespoke to your scope. Could be a few hours of practice-change product selection. Could be weeks of integrated planning across chemistry, biology, sampling infrastructure, cover crop, agroforestry, and verification cadence.

3

Consult Visit

We walk through your finished plan together, answer questions, and confirm the path forward. From here you can move into Deploy or hand the package to your operators and verifiers.

Six categories you can design for.

Pick as many or as few as your project requires. Each can be designed at the level of detail you actually need; from focused recommendations to full protocol-compliant specifications.

Minerals, balance, soil correction

The mineral inputs and timing that move your soil chemistry toward the balance your project actually needs. Specific products, rates, application windows; sequenced so chemistry changes don't undercut biology, carbon flux, or verification data.

The microbial engine of sequestration

Restoring the biological community that drives soil carbon flux, nutrient cycling, and water-holding capacity. Inoculants, compost protocols, and biological amendments matched to what your soil panel showed is missing and to the carbon flux you're trying to verify.

Installs and infrastructure

Water systems, smart irrigation, sampling grid design, monitoring station placement, sensor networks, water quality stations, fixed plot installation. The physical infrastructure that builds consistent returns and lets you maintain a defensible data trail across the entire MRV cycle.

Cover crops, perennials, agroforestry

Custom seed selection, planting plans, and rotation design for your project's carbon strategy. Annual cover crop sequences. Perennial pasture and prairie installation. Agroforestry layouts. Tree planting plans matched to soil chemistry and target credit type.

The management practice change

The actual practice modifications being verified: tillage reduction, rotational grazing, fertility program shifts, water management changes. Sequenced, documented, and tied to additionality requirements under your target protocol.

The MRV deliverable itself

Sampling cadence, lab protocol, QA/QC documentation, chain of custody, statistical sampling design, and registry-specific reporting templates. Built around your target methodology so audit and verification are integrated into operations, not bolted on after.

✽  Your path, your choice

Edapho design pathways

1

Designed for Edapho to deploy.

We build the plan knowing our team will execute it. Streamlined documentation. Internal sourcing. Permit and contractor coordination handled. Sampling cadence, application schedules, monitoring infrastructure, and registry reporting all handled by our team. You stay focused on the project strategy, not managing operations.

Fits projects where:

  • The developer or landowner wants single-vendor accountability
  • Internal operational capacity is limited
  • Speed to first credit issuance matters
  • Multi-property aggregation requires consistent execution
2

Designed for you to deploy.

We build the plan knowing you'll execute it yourself, alongside your existing operations team, or with the contractor base you've built. Contractor-ready specs. Product lists. Verification protocols woven through. We stay engaged for audit cycles and milestone verification.

Fits projects where:

  • You have internal operations capacity
  • You're aggregating across many existing landowners
  • You want full ownership of the data trail and IP
  • Long-term cost control matters more than turnkey execution

 What's in your Design package.

A real document set, designed like everything else we deliver. The exact contents depend on the categories and depth you chose during scoping.

See Design Pricing -->

  • Your Design Document  Deliverable 01

A comprehensive plan built around your diagnostic findings, your project scope, and the protocol you're targeting.

  • Product Specifications  Deliverable 02

For every category you chose Product Design or above: specific inputs with quantities, application rates, timing, and sequencing. Built for the acreage and management zones you actually have.

  • Infrastructure Plans  Deliverable 03

If your design includes Structure: sampling grid design, monitoring station placement, sensor specs, water quality station locations, and protocol-compliant statistical sampling documentation. Built to be installation-ready and verifier-acceptable.

  • Implementation Sequence  Deliverable 04

The order things happen in, and why. Year-one priorities, multi-year practice transitions, and credit cycle milestones sequenced so each step builds on the one before it and aligns with your registry's monitoring period.

  • Verification Package  Deliverable 05

The audit-defense document. Protocol compliance mapping, QA/QC procedures, chain of custody templates, registry-specific reporting forms, and the data trail framework that gets maintained through the project's life.

  • Re-Test & MRV Schedule  Deliverable 06

When to re-test, what to measure, what registry milestones to hit, and what triggers an adjustment. So you can hold us, or your operators, to the predictions in your plan across every credit cycle.

What Comes After

From plan to action.

Once your design is in hand, Deploy is where it becomes real. Our crew installing what you've planned. Our products shipping for your operators. Your sampling cadence running. Your data trail building. Your project moving toward first credit issuance and the long compounding revenue that follows.
