How We Work

S.T.A.G.E.

Edapho's structured process, which stands for Soil Trophic Analysis and Gradient Examination.

S.T.A.G.E. is the framework we use to understand why soil systems behave the way they do, identify the primary constraints limiting function, and design interventions that hold over time. Each phase builds on the last. No steps are skipped.

About Edaphodynamics

Every project begins with clarity around goals, constraints, and context. We start with a goal-mapping intake that captures land use, performance expectations, operational limitations, and known failure points. This establishes what success looks like before any technical work begins.

Early consultation and site review allow us to determine whether a project is a fit and what level of investigation is required.

Get Started

Diagnosis is the foundation of our work.

We collect and analyze soil data across chemistry, biology, and structure, then interpret those results together rather than in isolation. This allows us to identify the primary constraint limiting function and distinguish causes from symptoms.

Findings are delivered in clear, plain language so decisions can be made with confidence.

Design translates diagnosis into a targeted plan.

Using site-specific data, we develop a sequence of interventions tailored to the identified constraints. This includes selecting appropriate tools, inputs, practices, and timelines based on what the system can support.

Design is where risk is reduced. Skipping this step is the most common cause of failure we see in the field.

Delivery implements the designed solution.

Interventions are applied deliberately and in sequence, with attention to timing, conditions, and system response. Delivery is guided by the design and adjusted as needed based on observed behavior.

This phase is execution, not experimentation.

Function must be demonstrated over time.

We monitor system response, verify performance, and adjust management where necessary. Retesting and continued stewardship ensure that gains are stable and that new constraints are identified before they become failures.

Long-term success is defined by reduced intervention, not perpetual input.

What Clients Commit To

Clients engage with Edapho through the S.T.A.G.E. framework to the extent that aligns with their goals, capacity, and risk tolerance. Each stage is self-contained and must be completed with integrity, but clients are not required to proceed beyond the stage they are ready for. Some projects move through the full process. Others pause after diagnosis or design and resume later as conditions allow.
