Soil intelligence for the living world.
Edapho exists because the soil deserves better. For most of the last century, soil has been treated as inventory; a thing to extract from, dump on, drive across, and pave over. The result is the world we now live in: collapsing watersheds, declining yields, fragile ecosystems, contaminated brownfields, and infrastructure built on substrate nobody bothered to understand.
We were founded on a different premise. Soil is the living foundation of every ecosystem service the world depends on. Treat it as the foundation, and almost every downstream system shifts.
"If humans caused the damage, then by Occam’s Razor, it must be our responsibility to repair it. Nature cannot heal what it did not harm."

Erik Fritz
Founder & Director · Edapho
Erik founded Edapho on the conviction that soil science had been kept too theoretical, too academic, and too separated from the people actually working the land. He built Edapho to combine peer-grade diagnostic science with field-deployable tools and audience-specific engagement structures, so the science actually reaches the people who care about the outcome.
